Data Developer (m/f/d)
We're looking for a motivated and self-driven Senior Data Engineer to join our Connected Vehicle Platform team.
You will join a newly formed team of 4 (1 Product owner and 3 SW Engineers) that is on a mission to transform our train and Bus fleets into smart connected vehicles. We utilize machine learning techniques and on-board hardware systems to enhance automation, vehicle tracking and improve customer experience.
As a Senior Data Engineer you will help shape the team and product and influence our overall system architecture and design.
Your Tasks – Paint the world green
- You build data heavy distributed systems
- You work with a multi-functional team to take PoC products to scale and implement production-ready solutions
- You work across teams to define and architect the best data solutions to enhance our product quality and scalability
- You help establish and maintain a high-level of operational excellence in data engineering
- You will be part of our mission to enrich and transform our Train and Bus fleets into smart, automated machines.
Your Profile – What experience would make you successful in this role?
- 7+ years of experience in software development
- 3+ years of experience as a data engineer
- Extensive experience in high-performance data pipelines and event/data streaming using Kafka
- Strong proficiency and experience in Scala framework and ecosystems
- Solid experience with SQL and managing databases
- Previous experience with Redis data storage and real-time data sets
- Strong communications and leadership skills
- Ability to drive cross-team technical communications and the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical mindset
Your Profile – What experience would make you the "perfect" candidate?
- Java/Python backend development
- Cloud Platforms AWS/Azure/GCP
- Infrastructure / DevOps experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
- Experience with Hardware systems
