We're looking for a motivated and driven Senior Java Engineer who will help us shape the future of data protection at Flix. About the team you'd be working with
The team you will be joining works on creating systems and products that enable all other tech teams at Flix to process personal identifiable data in while keeping it private. You will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with stakeholders from many different areas of the company and help us in creating and rolling out new tools and services.
Your Tasks – Paint the world green
- As part of a central platform team, you will help us harden our data privacy processes, and make it easy and seamless for our globally distributed teams to leverage data while protecting it, across the markets we operate in.
- You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our platform.
- You will design architectures and build software to automate processes.
- You will collaborate with different teams and get to know their tech stacks (having significant exposure to the technical landscape used at Flix)
- You will influence data privacy policies across Flix Tech
- You will help develop engineering policies and platforms that will impact large parts of the organization

Your Profile – Ready to hop on board
- Solid experience in programming in Java, knowledge of Object-Oriented Design
- Experience working with developing, maintaining, and testing distributed systems using any of the major cloud providers (we work with AWS)
- Experience with software architecture and software design (microservices, event-driven architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
- Having a deep understanding of setting up metrics, alarms, and dashboards for operational excellence.
- Experience in writing good technical documentation
- Experience with mentoring, coaching and sharing best practices within the team
- Team player: You collaborate well with others, feel responsible for your work, have experience in giving and receiving feedback
- High interest in data privacy and data compliance topics: you are a data privacy advocate / have an interest in data compliance / have certifications or completed courses
- Clear communication skills (verbal and written)
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
