We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable process, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and contributing to process improvements.
About the Role
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, verification, payment execution, and maintenance of accurate transaction records.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements across all payable activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements related to accounts payable.
- Analyze financial data and assist in the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, and legal, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and process alignment.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, while supporting audits with necessary documentation and explanations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolve payment issues, and mentor junior accounting staff to foster a high-performance culture.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounts payable or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial reporting standards, with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager/supervisor to accomplish objectives.
- Effective communication in English/Spanish and interpersonal skills, with experience in process improvement initiatives as a plus.
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
